Career Guidance and Placement Cell

Career Guidance and Placement is an important aspect of any professional college. The Career Guidance and Placement Unit (CGPU) of STC was set up with the single goal of helping the student community for getting them placed in Industries according to their skill and ability of the respective student. STC puts lots of effort and energy to make successful placement of its students. The Placement Cell operates round the year to network with companies and facilitate graduates. The number of students placed through the campus interviews is continuously rising.

In view of the above, the CGPU will conduct a number of activities prior to the placement, during the placement and after the placement. These activities will include Pre-placement training sessions on aptitude, technical and communication skills and special training to enhance soft skills. CGPU organizes career guidance programs for all the students starting from first year periodically.

The CGPU of STC is committed for the growth and development of our engineering students and place these talents with high degree of professional ethics and employability

Objective:

The purpose of the Placement Cell is to ensure that placements and internships of registered students of STC, Chengannur are guided by fair and consistent principles and sound administration so that there is a positive experience and outcome for all stakeholders.

 

To groom students, keeping the vision of the college in mind and to successfully create engineers the institute placement policy aims to:

  • Set a clear and transparent framework for the processes related to placements and internships of the students of the institute;
  • Set out role and responsibility of the students participating in the placement and internship process;
  • Achieve placement of maximum number of registered students;

The Placement & Training cell shall be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that appropriate procedures are in place to support this
  • Contacting and inviting companies for placement and
  • Liaising with institute’s academic departments, centers and various administrative units to ensure implementation of this policy.
  • Maintaining a contact list of nominated members from faculty/staff and students involved with the placement and internship matters.
  • Ensuring proper communication between various parties involved in student placement and internship activities.
  • Having regular reviews of adherence to the institute placement policy and to ensure it is documented and periodically updated as per requirements.
· Duties of Training & Placement Officer
  • The placement officer serves as a conciliator between these industries and the institution
  • Identify and visit companies/ organizations for potential placement
  • Assists different companies in recruiting candidates as per their requirements. Assists students in obtaining final placement in reputed companies.
  • Conduct in-house students counselling sessions & organize corporate engagement activities such as Guest lectures, Student training, Workshops, Conclaves, &

Acts as a link between students, alumni and the employment community
