The central library of STCET is situated in a separate building named Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom Central Library under 3 floors, including a stack area on the first floor, in the ground floor circulation section, reference, technical, digital library, reprography and 3rd floor for research area with video conferencing facility. The reading area of the central library has a seating capacity of 300.
The Building was inaugurated by H.E. Adv. P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, Honorable Governor of Goa in the presence of Sri. Saji Cherian, Honorable Minister of Fisheries, Cultural and Youth Affairs, Govt of Kerala and Blessed by H.G. Dr. Mathews Mar Thimothios (Metropolitan, Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, Diocese of Chengannur.
The central library of St. Thomas College of Engineering & Technology is fully automated. Library functions with LIBSOFT since 2010 with complete information on book details, classification of books, and issue and return of books. The holdings of the library can be searched through OPAC. Users can search the books by entering any keyword such as author name, title, accession number, etc.
The library has a collection of 19180 Volumes and 8183 Titles. The library has special collections of reading materials for competitive examinations. The library is also a registered member of NDL which has a collection of more than 6 lakh e-books. To enrich the student’s knowledge beyond their curriculum, the institution has subscribed to DELNET and KNIMBUS e-journal annual subscription. Users can have round-the-clock access to all the e-journal subscriptions through Wi-Fi/ LAN within the campus.
The library offers various services to its users like an automated circulation system, online public access catalog, reprography, internet browsing, library orientations, etc. A digital library with 14 computer systems is provided to the users to access e-resources such as e-journals, e-books, NPTEL lectures, etc. The support and supervision of the library staff will be available for the digital library users throughout the time.
