Academic Council

The Academic Council is the apex academic body of the Institution constituted under the Autonomous framework. It is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of teaching,
learning, research, and academic administration. The Council functions in accordance with the regulations of the UGC, State Government, and the affiliating University (KTU).

Objectives of the Academic Council
The key objectives of the Academic Council are:

•  To formulate and approve curriculum structure, course syllabi, and academic regulations for all programs.
•  To ensure the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and continuous academic improvements.
•  To approve proposals and recommendations received from various Boards of Studies.
•  To review and promote practices for enhancing quality education, research, student support, and industry collaboration.
• To evaluate and ensure the academic integrity of assessment and examination processes. 

Functions of the Academic Council
The Academic Council performs the following functions:

•  Approval of new courses, programs of study, and revisions to existing syllabi.
•  Prescription of academic calendar, credits, and guidelines for evaluation.
•  Oversight of examination and evaluation systems, including continuous assessment and end-semester examinations.
•  Recommendation of qualifications, experience, and criteria for faculty recruitment and development.
•  Review of academic performance of students and introduction of corrective measures for improvement.
•  Recommendation of policies related to research, innovation, internships, and skill development.
