Dekathon 4.0, themed “Sustainable Development Goals: Innovate for a Sustainable Tomorrow,” was a three-day Indo-Malaysian international hackathon organized from January 22–24, 2026 at St. Thomas College of Engineering and Technology (Autonomous), Chengannur. The event was jointly organized by St. Thomas College of Engineering and Technology, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU), and Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), bringing together innovators, entrepreneurs, and engineering students to develop impactful solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Dekathon 4.0 featured expert mentoring sessions, startup workshops, pitch deck training, technical evaluations, cultural programs, and networking opportunities designed to promote innovation and entrepreneurship. The event offered a total prize pool of ₹1.25 Lakhs, including
a First Prize of ₹50,000, a Second Prize of ₹25,000, and 10 category prizes worth ₹5,000 each. Participants from India and Malaysia collaborated on sustainable technology solutions
focusing on areas such as clean energy, climate action, smart infrastructure, healthcare, waste management, and AI-driven innovations. The hackathon witnessed participation from 78 competing teams, evaluated through multiple rounds by academicians, startup mentors, scientists, and industry experts. The top finalist teams presented innovative prototypes and business solutions before an expert judging panel, making Dekathon 4.0 a powerful platform for international collaboration, startup culture, and innovation- driven learning. The event successfully strengthened cross-border academic partnerships and inspired young innovators to create sustainable solutions for global challenges.
