Department of Civil Engineering, STCET has signed MoUs with various prestigious public & private sector establishments in view of:
- Recognizing the importance of research and development in the areas of Construction practices and methodology of various civil infrastructure facilities as well as imparting industrial training to the engineering/technology/sciences students, etc.,
- Appreciating the need for creation of large reservoir of highly qualified manpower in all fields related to construction and various civil infrastructure facilities, and
- Desiring to club their efforts by pooling their expertise and resources
Techshore Inspection Services, Cochin
The MOU is signed for conducting the Industrial level training and providing certification for Non Destructive Testing(ASNT Level II), QA/QC & Quantity Survey and Cost Estimation for the students of the department.
Skill Delivery Platform, Kerala (Sdpk)
The Skill Delivery Platform, Kerala (SDPK) is a unique initiative of Dept. of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of Kerala implemented through the Special purpose Vehicle, KSITL. The vision of Skills Delivery platform (SDPK) is to impart industry relevant employability skills training programme to Engineering students.
The SDPK is conceptualized using State-of-the-art Technology (Cisco Telepresence solution) enabled Learning platform that will enable remote delivery of high-quality skills programme delivered by Industry. SDPK will connect 150 Hi-Tech classrooms in the Engineering colleges Community Skills Parks in the state and the Industry Hubs such as Technopark, Infopark and Cyberpark. The highlight of SDPK is partnering with industry to deliver world-class skill development training programmes which will help students from all branches of engineering to interact with industry experts and get trained.
Rebuild Kerala Initiative – Lsgd, Govt Of Kerala
The extraordinary commitment shown during the mega flood of 2018 and its mitigation activities by Department of Civil Engineering,St.Thomas College of Engineering & Technology was much appreciated by the people and its Govt: of Kerala, opened a new dimension of collaborative approach in the rebuild activities. Colleges also participated voluntarily in the scientific investigation of damaged roads and bridges finding causes and suggesting remedies. The need for designed road corridors and quality construction practices were evolved as an axiom towards sustainable pavements.
In compliance PMU is entrusted to prepare designs and develop execution practices. PMU, understanding the need of a impenetrable quality control system formulated a three tier quality control system in which the first tier, 2nd tier (as third party) and 3rd tier are delegated to PIU, Engineering College and PMU respectively
Vide G.O. (Rt.) No. 2179/2020/LSGD, Dt: Thiruvananthapuram, 20.11.2020, Government have accorded sanction to St. Thomas College of Engineering and Technology, Kozhuvalloor, Chengannur, to serve as second tier quality control mechanism.
