CREO Workshop

The students had a 3 – day design workshop with software CREO. This is an advanced software usually used in tractor and car designing. It was a very interesting and exciting class. We were finally given some models to design and were able to do that.

ICAR Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kollam

The Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Sadanandapuram, Kottarakkara, Kollam under Kerala Agricultural University functions as the linkage organization between the University and stakeholders in agriculture, most importantly the farmers. The institute provided information about various agricultural equipments and its operations. The students got a chance to use the tractor and explained a lot of details regarding it. The visit benefitted the students in their academics and improved their skills.

One Day Seminar

The students had seminar class on the topic “GROUNDWATER CONSERVATION AND RECHARGE ” on 9th April, 2023 by professionals from Kerala State Agricultural Department. Various ways of groundwater recharging as well as conservation methods were taught.

AICRP on Farm Machinery

The students also visited the All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Farm instruments and Machinery in Hyderabad on September 14, 2023. It was a great experience as we could experience and gain knowledge on various types of machineries and its uses.

CIFT, Kochi

We visited the Central Institute of Fisheries Technology situated at Willington island, Kochi. It is an ICAR institute. Visiting that institute, made us understand how it helps the fishermen, how preservation of fish and other items are done, also about the process of incubating for startups, etc.

Coimbatore for a Technical Workshop for Tiffan

The students had also attended a Technical Workshop on 1st November, 2023 at Bannari Amman Institute of Technology Coimbatore conducted by John Dere Group and the TIFFAN Team.

CSIR - NIO, Goa

The students also visited the CSIR – National Institute Of Oceanography situated at Goa. They could understand the various studies happening under the ocean and also various technologies used.

Homegrown Nursery and Farms

The students visited the Homegrown Nursery and Farms situated at Kanjirappily, Kerala. It enriched them with the knowledge on different types of polyhouses, various fruits and vegetables, how to take care of them and most importantly how to prepare the forest soil or compost.

ICAR- IISWC Ootty

The ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation (ICAR-IISWC), (Formerly CSWCRTI) was established on 1st April,1974 with Headquarters at Dehradun by combining Soil and Water Conservation Research, Demonstration and Training Centres which were established in 1950’s at Dehradun, Kota, Bellary, Udhagamandalam, Vasad, Agra and Chandigarh.
The Principal Scientist from ICAR explained students about ICAR and its functions all over the world. The Institute and Research Centers have focused on evolving strategies for controlling land degradation following watershed approach, tackling special problems such as ravines, landslides, mine spoils and torrents, demonstration of technologies for popularization and imparting training besides developing technologies for water harvesting, Saving, and recycling.

ICRISAT

Twenty one students of 2021-25 batch along with 2 staff members visited the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-arid Tropics situated at Patancheru, Hyderabad on September 12, 2023 for one day training. It has been a new exposure for the students as they could know how an international institution in the field of Agriculture Engineering works.

IHRD Chengannur

Selected students were taken to the College of Engineering, Chengannur for a Seminar based on Agriculture Entomology. Also they had visit to an agricultural expo arranged there with various agricultural machinery and other farm products.

NIPHM, Hyderabad

The students also went for a 10 day training program at National Institute of Plant Health Management, Hyderabad from 9th September to 19th September 2023. It was one of the best lifetime experience we had. We got hands- on experience on various type of sprayers and plant protection equipments. We also had training on Drone sprayers and about Remote sensing and GIS.
